Designing and Running a Scientific Symposium
A comprehensive project-management approach to deliver an effective symposium
Sponsored symposia are an extremely effective tool to communicate novelties and news on the company’s products and therapeutic areas.
People refer to them as a research symposium, a science symposium, a scientific symposium, a medical symposium, a biomedical symposium or a sponsored symposium.
Symposia are an integral part of the communication strategy and many resources - both in terms of time and of economic output - are needed to organize a successful scientific event. Companies know the importance of organising a successful scientific symposium. Thus, it is crucial to maximising the outcome belonging to investments on any sponsored symposium.
The objective of this workshop is the design, organization, running, and evaluation of a scientific symposium: The estimation of the needed time and budget ensuring their availability when needed, the management and effective use of resources will be shared and simulated, applying the best practices.
The identification of scientifically important topics and the most appropriate speakers ensuring ethical and lawsuit standards will be revised, too.
Any aspect to successfully face challenges related to sponsored symposium planning and execution will be revised and discussed with an “on-the-job” approach. The best practices to prioritise and navigate through the actions needed to organize a successful scientific symposium will be shared and experienced. The methods to evaluate attendees’ outcomes and the success of the medical symposium will be identified and practiced.
