Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day held annually?

Yes. Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day is an annual pharmacovigilance conference held each November in Copenhagen. Each edition focuses on current developments in drug safety, pharmacovigilance systems, and regulatory affairs relevant to the Nordic pharmaceutical industry and broader European GVP landscape.

What is the difference between individual edition pages and this main page?

This page provides an overview of Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day as an annual pharmacovigilance conference series, covering its history, recurring themes, and professional community. Individual edition pages offer specific details about that year’s programme, speakers, registration, and focused topics. This main page serves as the canonical reference for the overall Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day conference series.

Who should attend Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day?

The pharmacovigilance conference is designed for drug safety professionals including QPPVs, pharmacovigilance specialists, regulatory affairs professionals, quality assurance personnel, GVP inspectors, CRO staff, and anyone responsible for pharmacovigilance systems or drug safety compliance in pharmaceutical companies, regulatory agencies, or service organizations operating in the Nordic region.

Why is this conference specifically for Nordic professionals?

While Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day addresses EU GVP requirements applicable across Europe, the conference provides particular value for professionals working with Nordic medicines agencies (Danish Medicines Agency, Swedish Medical Products Agency, Norwegian Medicines Agency, Finnish Medicines Agency, Icelandic Medicines Agency). Sessions address Nordic-specific regulatory affairs practices, regional collaboration opportunities, and operational challenges unique to the Nordic pharmaceutical industry landscape.

How does Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day address AI in drug safety?

Artificial intelligence in pharmacovigilance is a recurring conference focus reflecting the Nordic region’s leadership in digital health innovation. Sessions explore practical implementation of AI in pharmacovigilance systems, regulatory considerations for automated drug safety processes, quality standards for AI-enabled case processing and signal detection, and lessons learned from Nordic pharmaceutical companies pioneering these technologies.

Will Nordic medicines agencies participate in the conference?

Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day regularly features participation from representatives of Nordic medicines agencies. These sessions provide direct insight into regulatory affairs expectations, inspection trends, and upcoming policy developments affecting pharmacovigilance systems in the region. Regulatory participation ensures pharmaceutical industry professionals understand current requirements and can engage proactively with competent authorities.

Is the conference relevant for pharmaceutical companies outside the Nordic region?

Yes. International pharmaceutical companies with operations, marketing authorizations, or clinical development activities in Nordic countries will find Nordic Pharmacovigilance Day highly relevant. The conference addresses both Nordic-specific regulatory affairs considerations and broader European GVP topics applicable to any pharmaceutical company operating in the region or managing global drug safety operations.
