Workshop: Senior MSL and MSL Manager – the Evolution of a Complex Role
Experiences on the governance of a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team
Although the role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is very exciting and can sometimes be coveted, leading an MSL team, often with heterogeneous and high-level skills, can be complex and challenging.
These are some of the main challenges of MSL Managers:
- Establish the flow of activities
- Maintain the autonomy and motivation of the team
- Ensure the achievement of qualitative and quantitative objectives
This practical course gives participants an opportunity for exchanging experiences and discussing the role of Medical Science Liaison and the hot topics that MSL managers face on a daily basis.
The trainer's long experience will serve as the basis to draw up a 'practical and effective guide for the MSL manager' to be used in present or future positions.
- Feasible/non-feasible/forbidden activities for an MSL
- Action plan of a team of MSL and geographical MEDICAL workplan
- Annual performance indicators of MSLs
- Building of the MSL manager's decalogue
After an introduction to the topic, participants will become the main actors of the event. With the guidance of the trainer, they will cover the above topics to learn on the needed tools to identify and manage 'the grey areas' of the MSL role, and lead an MSL team to achieve excellence of each team member and of the team as a whole.
The course will be in Italian.
